A Butt-kicking from My Future Self

It seemed like such an innocent journal prompt

(This post was originally published on my Substack, pameladellpalmer.substack.com on March 20, 2026)

I follow a lot of psychics, channels, and spiritual teachers, many of whom I’ve found through Facebook algorithms. My guides bring me what I need, when I need it, often in the form of puzzle pieces.

A couple of these pieces arrived yesterday via Loy Jones (loyjones.com) and Octavia Vasile (holographicyou.com), two of my current favorites.

A few months ago, I signed up for Loy Jones’ free Weekly Akashic Insight letter.

She always offers journal prompts that go deep for me, but this time I got no further than her introductory paragraphs where she had me ask, “If my Future Self were guiding me today, what would she tell me to focus on?”

What fun! (Little did I know…) So I sent out my feelers to connect with my future self. Twenty years from now? Ten?

I don’t always feel energy, but I did this time. I became aware of both of these future selves suddenly, and their feel was very, very different.

The 20 year had a light, bright feel to her, but when I connected to the 10 year me, I got this heavy, unhappy feeling in my chest. Yikes.

I immediately tuned into my unhappy 10-years-in-the-future self and channeled her through my keyboard.

“What’s wrong?” I asked her.

“I’m still waiting!”

“For?”

“Everything! My mission to begin. Something to change in my life. Anything to change! It’s like the world is passing me by.”

In my mind’s eye I saw a person standing still while people flashed past in time-lapse super speed.

“I know I have a message to share,” she continued, “but I don’t know what to say, or where to begin. When the time is right, the words will come, right? But they never do!”

At that moment, I remembered the Facebook post by Octavia Vasile that I’d just read. Here’s an excerpt:

How to never feel stuck again

The 5D Arcturian Council channeled by Octavia Vasile

You have been taught to believe that reality exists outside of you, moving independently, and that you must react to what it presents. In this way, when something does not unfold as expected, you observe it and declare: “This is how it is.”

And when you say this, you are not merely describing reality. You are stabilizing it.

A 5D being understands something different. They know that what they are seeing in a given moment is not a fixed condition, it is only the current frame in a moving sequence of creation.

If something does not work now, it does not mean it will not work in the next moment, unless you consciously choose to lock the experience into permanence.

This hit me right between the eyes, because I knew that I was in danger of doing just that — locking this waiting into permanence.

Last spring, I got marching orders from my etheric team that it was time to start writing about my journey, and what I’m learning, and share it.

I took that to heart and set up a website (PamelaDellPalmer.com) from scratch (no mean feat – I’m still patting myself on the back for that), and posted heavily for a couple of months.

Then life intervened in a happy way, in the form of a new addition to the family, and I never posted again.

I was no longer inspired to write. I’d had so many ideas a month before, and then I didn’t. Was this just the natural ebb and flow of inspiration, or me falling back into the habit of waiting to be inspired, rather than pushing through?

Had I inadvertently stabilized my waiting, locking it into permanence?

So I turned to my 20 years from now self, for her advice.

“You must let go of the notion that you have to be perfect at what you do, Pamela,” she told me. “You need to just start moving. Put it all out there, no holds barred. Let it be awkward and messy, at first, if it needs to be.”

I cringed a little, but I knew she was right.

She shook her head. “I wish I’d understood back then that I was letting perfectionism hobble me. In hindsight, it all seems so silly that I thought I couldn’t simply be myself.”

“But if I do that, will I still become you?” I liked this version of my future self.

“Good question. Why don’t you ask to speak to the Future You who took the advice I’m giving you right now? The one who was braver than I was when she was you.”

Every possible timeline exists simultaneously, so I figured this wouldn’t be hard, and it wasn’t. I cut all cords with my current timeline future selves, then I asked to align with my highest timeline future selves, instead.

They came through immediately, very different from the other versions.

My 10-year-in-the-future self felt like excitement, very embodied, close by, like she was right there. She felt so full, in a good way — busy, excited, fulfilled, vibrant. Fully grounded in this reality.

She grinned at me. “You did it. We did it! When you first started sharing your story, it was a little rocky, although honestly, it was mostly just you who thought so. I can’t tell you how easy it all was once you committed to really getting out there and being completely authentic.”

I think I’m a little scared,” I told her. I didn’t feel ready. Not at all.

“Oh darling, I know. I remember that feeling so well. You’re just a tiny bit nervous. Completely understandable. So it’s time to reframe that. Do you want to recreate this frame of being a little nervous until you lock it in? No, you do not. Reframe it!

“How?” I asked.

“Just imagine what you desire. Imagine that you are joyfully and easily putting out your writing every day, and that you’ve attracted a wonderful and engaged readership. Or that you’re jetting off to your latest speaking engagement, or a book signing for your latest bestseller.”

“You choose!” she continued. “It can be a different frame every day, and they don’t have to be in order or connect to anything that’s come before. Simply throw out something else, something that you want, that feels good. It probably won’t change overnight, not in 2026, but it will change if you do this all the time, and just let it come to you in perfect timing and in the perfect way.”

I said goodbye to her, as I took that in, and then I tuned into to my 20-year-in-the-future self on this highest timeline. She felt removed and quiet, like she was very connected at the crown to higher realms. I could feel the energy tingling at my own crown and I wondered if she was in the spirit realm. Huh. Was she (I?) no longer in physical form?

She turned to me and smiled. “I am very happy to speak with you, young Pamela Dell! You saw my head in the clouds, did you? Let me tell you, it’s not what you think. From where you stand now, it looks like I’m quite high up, but all of humanity is rising, remember. I’m still fully human, fully grounded in the Earth plane, I’m just far more multi-dimensional than you are now.”

That was a relief! “What would you have me focus on?” I asked, although I suspected I knew what she was going to say.

Your writing must come now, dear one. Do not delay! The more you delay, the more you will move away from this timeline, and it’s a good one, I assure you.”

I groaned. “I don’t know where to start.”

“Right here. Post this discussion you’re having with your future selves.

Everything inside of me rebelled. It was too soon. I needed to think about it more. I needed to figure it all out first.

She was having none of that. “Push through your resistance, Pamela Dell. Clean up this discussion a bit, then post it. Today! Just do it.”

Her words were tough, but I felt nothing but love from her. I got up from my laptop feeling nervous, overwhelmed, and more than a little excited, because I’ve always loved a challenge. Could I really do this? In one day?

As it turned out, it took two. I spent all day yesterday setting up my Substack and writing my Welcome post, but this one’s almost ready to schedule, just twenty-four hours after that discussion, so I’m feeling pretty proud of myself.

And I’m choosing the next frame of my present moment, a beautiful one, because in it, reading this page, I’m seeing you.

Welcome to the Adventure!
