THE FERALS

Who are the Ferals?

In 2009, Avon Books published the first of eight books in my dark, sexy, paranormal romance series, the Feral Warriors. This was the tale of the last shapeshifters left in the world, each of whom shifts into a different animal, and answers to some version of the name of that animal.

Although they’re not the only Feral Warriors, the eight I write about now (and will introduce you to, below) are the ones whose books were published. These are the males whose hearts, minds, and spirits were healed as a result of the challenges and conflicts that I put them through during their individual stories. They embody the balanced, healthy masculinity that we rarely see in the world around us. The divine masculine in physical form. They are truly heroes, and very much worthy of the women who became their mates.

For a list of the book titles, and more information about them, go to my author website, pamelapalmer.net. Be aware, these books contain explicit sex.

To understand how I came to be working with them again, read my post, Into the Feral World.

The Eight:

Hawke is the intellectual of the bunch. He has an intensely curious and open mind and is always up for an adventure in the non-physical. Sometimes his wife, Falkyn, will join us, but Hawke is the one who shares my fascination with exploring the unknown. Like all of the Ferals, he’s over six and a half feet tall. Unlike most of the others, he’s built more like a swimmer or distance runner than a football player. His face is long and strong-boned, his brown eyes alight with curiosity beneath a pair of dark, sharply-winged brows.

Lyon is the Chief of the Ferals and takes his role of leader seriously. He’s wise, smart, and caring, always looking out for the welfare of his team and their mates and families. He’s mated to their sweet Radiant, Kara, who literally calls the light to empower them all, and whom he loves beyond measure. Lyon’s tawny hair hangs in waves to his shoulders, framing a strong face and amber-colored eyes.

Tighe (pronounced ‘Tie’) is a pilot, and a charmer, though the only one he delights in charming these days is his ex-FBI wife, Delaney. Like all of the Ferals, Tighe can shift into his animal at will which, in his case, is a fifteen-foot Bengal tiger. Tighe has short, pale hair and a killer pair of dimples.

Paenther is Lyon’s second-in-command. He’s a serious male, protective to the core, especially of his gentle mate, Skye. Three-quarters Native American, he has the bronzed skin, and black hair and eyes, of his human ancestors. A tribal tattoo snakes up his neck, and across one eye are the claw marks that brand him a Feral Warrior.

Jag is the resident bad boy. Now that his heart has healed, largely thanks to Olivia, his warrior mate, he’s less a trouble maker than a mischief maker, but he’ll never be fully tamed. Nor would Olivia want him to be. He has a strong jaw and cleft chin and hair that hangs shaggy around his face, as if he’s hacked it off with his knife, which he usually has. His signature look is camouflage pants and an army green tee. He tries to watch the swear words, these days, but he still slips up. A lot.

Kougar is by far the oldest of the Ferals, but since they are all essentially immortal, you’d never know it by looking at him. They all appear to be in their thirties. Since reuniting with his mate, Ariana, after millennia apart, he’s rediscovering a joy for life that he’d believed forever lost. But his habit of aloofness is proving hard to shake off. He’ll look at you with cold, pale eyes that will suddenly, surprisingly, gleam with warmth and occasionally, even humor.

Fox is an incredibly good-looking male, but he has a great sense of humor and has never taken himself too seriously. Though he’s always been a warrior, and one of the immortal Therian race, only recently did he become the sole fox shifter, an honor of a lifetime. Fox’s pure heart and deep ability to love, enabled him to pull his now mate, Melisande, back into the light, from the darkness that had claimed her.

Wulfe is the biggest of the warriors, a full seven feet tall with hands the size of dinner plates. He’s a gentle giant, at least when it comes to Natalie, his once-human mate. Scars still crisscross his hard, rugged face, but the scars on his heart are fully healed, now, thanks to her unconditional love.
