Alexander, would you talk about spirit communication?
Of course. We wish to start out by explaining that in the grand scheme of things, there are several options for humans when it comes to communicating with spirit. Or more importantly, getting communication from spirit. Receiving.
You can speak to us quite easily through prayer, or simply talking with us, either verbally or non-verbally. We receive quite easily and constantly from you.
The opposite is rarely true. And so we wish for you to understand that there are several primary ways for you to receive.
The first is through meditation.
Now, perhaps you are clairvoyant or clairaudient and you receive pictures or hear voices. But even if you are neither of these things, when you quiet your mind and sit in the silence, we are much better able to inspire you.
We do this by sending you ideas that you often believe are your own, for they oftentimes do not appear in your consciousness immediately. So when they do appear, say when you’re driving or in the shower or on a walk, you may think you thought of them yourselves.
Another way that we communicate with you is through signs. These can be snippets that you hear on the radio, such as a song lyric. Or an overheard conversation or a literal sign, such as a street name or a billboard or the name of a diner that somehow answers the question you were just asking. Signs are everywhere and we draw your attention to them whenever we can.
The third way is when you allow your inner being to merge more fully with your human self. In this merging, you allow the knowledge to just flow. This is a bit more advanced for some, and yet it is where you are all going.
This is slightly different from your guides putting inspiration into your mind or your field. For your inner being, your higher self, is you. It is simply the part of you that is not confined to the body. And while you may or may not receive this knowledge or knowing in the form of psychic phenomena—some do, certainly—you know. You know that it is the right time for you to do this or that or the other thing.
You know, or you feel, for that is another very strong indicator and again, one that comes from within rather than without. Not that we are not within you, too, in a sense. But the feeling and the knowing come from you connecting with your inner being.
The signs and the visions, etc. are more a matter of those of us who are your guides leading you to a realization or an answer to something you have been seeking.
There are many ways for you to misinterpret what you are receiving, of course. The communication between us is very much as difficult as your old earth game of telephone where a phrase is whispered from one to another around the room. Or perhaps two cups and an adjoining string.
It is imperfect at best, while you are in human form, and almost always quite challenging. But there is great joy on this side when you understand a message that we’ve sent. We always have your best interests at heart, for we love you, today and always.
